How does the cgi effects work.

I know they do it on computers,but how do they get it on film.Do they take the computer disk to a lab? I plan on studying computer graphics at school next year"""Jan"""I hope to get deep into it.

Bob Dylan used a cue card with writing on it,or you could use plexiglass with rub on letters, or the built in camera titles are all different inexpensive ways of putting titles on film. The only way to get the fancy titles is a CG or use Adobe Illustrator, Effects, Photoshop, or Boris and change the signal to video.
